TIPS FOR USING THE LOCAL HISTORY DIGITAL ARCHIVES

Viewing a video, picture or document:

--Clicking on videos, pictures or documents will open a separate window. Some internet security programs and pop-up blockers will prevent separate windows from opening. It is possible to override some of these programs and blockers by clicking on the picture or document and holding down the Control key until the item appears. If this does not work check the instructions for temporarily disabling the pop-up blocker on your security program.

--To view a document it is necessary to have Adobe Acrobat installed. This is a free download that allows PDF (Portable Document Format) files to be viewed. Adobe Acrobat Reader

System timeouts:

--A system timeout of 30 minutes is present on the Digital Archives. If a page, picture or document remains static for more than the maximum time, the system will time out. It is then necessary to reenter the system.
